Ettore Sottsass designer Invero

Ettore Sottsass (1917-2007): son of the architect Ettore Sottsass, father. He graduated in Architecture from the Polytechnic of Turin in 1939. In 1947, he began to work in Milan, where he opened his first design studio.

In 1948, he joined the MAC group (Concrete Art Movement) and participated in the first collective exhibition in Milan. That same year, he sponsors in Rome the exhibition dedicated to Abstract Art in Italy. Later, it adheres to Space.

The principle, on which absurd and monumental furniture is based, is emotion. Then comes the function. A multi-faceted artist and descendant of artists, Sotssas combines his academic training as an architect with direct experiences in the field of visual arts.

Throughout his important career, he resorted to the valuable collaboration of professional friends who would often become famous personalities in the world of design and architecture, internationally such as James Irvine.
